Class 3 - 1/10/2009

Here's a summary of what we covered this week:

• Original Tune "Places Left Behind" : We went over the melody and changes of this jazz waltz.
  
• Chord Worksheet #1: Chord voicings supporting the melody of Places Left Behind."
• Chord Worksheet #2: Chord voicings on strings 1234 in first region of the neck. Discussed chord construction, color tone usage, etc.
  
• Building Melodies of the Chords: Using scales and arpeggios to build melodic lines starting on and/or resolving to notes from the chords voicings.
• Larry Corban's Octave Displacement Scale: This is the scale with octave displacements that Larry learned from Oz Noy. I've put the video up and will transcribe it when I get some time.
